Michael Phelps to be a Dad: Olympic Athlete & Fiancée Pregnant With 1st Child

Is there about to be another Olympic athlete in our midst? Well it might seem that way, as one of the most decorated winners in sports history is about to add a new baby to his family. Michael Phelps has just announced that he and fiancée, Nicole Johnson, are pregnant with their first child, and that they are already three months along. Phelps shared the awesome news on his Instagram account earlier this week.

The 22-time Olympic medalist posted a very Michael Phelps-esque Instagram picture to announce the baby news. He and Johnson took to the pool for the adorable shot that showed his fiancée holding a tiny baby sized speedo over her growing belly.

"We found out eight weeks ago that we were expecting," the 30-year-old wrote under the photo. "Today we're over 12 weeks and it looks like we're having a boy! #babymp #lifeabouttochange #mpswim @djnolan5"

The couple dressed all in Michael Phelps' athletic gear, and the small swimwear also had the "MP" logo on it.

According to Us Weekly, the two have decided to take to social media to announce the very big milestones in their lives. They also took to the site to announce to the world that they were getting married back in February.

Phelps posted a picture on February 21 with the caption, "She said yes," as the couple plays around in the snow.

Us Weekly is reporting that Johnson also posted on her own social media account, where she broke the news to her fans and followers about the engagement. She posted a picture that showed off her gorgeous engagement ring and wrote, "I'm gonna be a Mrs."

The couple began dating in 2011 when Phelps was busy competing at the FINA World Championships. They have been off and on over the last few years, but rekindled their romance last summer.
