Rumors suggest that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continue fighting nonstop (but behind closed doors). Perhaps the release of their new romantic drama "By The Sea" would help fix things, only if Pitt wasn't so upset with the final production...

According to the the seedy gossip tabloid Star, the 51-year-old Hollywood heartthrob is thoroughly disappointed in his wife's latest onscreen project (Jolie wrote and directed the film). Early reviews and box office numbers are rather poor, so the award-winning actor is completely embarrassed:

"Brad can't stop cringing. He feels humiliated," an alleged insider explains. "He never wanted to do this film, but Angie kept twisting his arm."

The movie (officially released in select theaters on November 13) follows this plot:

Set in France during the mid-1970s, Vanessa (a former dancer) and her husband Roland (an American writer) travel the country together. They seem to be growing apart, but when they linger in one quiet seaside town, they begin to draw close to some of its more vibrant inhabitants, such as a local bar/café-keeper and a hotel owner.

So since the story follows a couple's struggling relationship, the snitch also insinuates that Pitt's real-life marriage with the "Unbroken" beauty is now also crumbling. Jolie's so demanding in promoting this "drowning" flick, her hubby just can't deal with the drama and pressure anymore:

"[She's] let the fame go to her head," the source concludes.

Just last month, Jolie supposedly "blew-up" at Pitt for flirting with Sienna Miller (33) on the Ireland set of "The Lost City of Z." The mental abuse has just gone way too far:

"He's told Angie it's over," the source reveals. "He's beyond miserable and wants out... He's come to resent the power he's allowed her to have over him. She was bossy and demanding and humiliated Brad in front of the cast and crew a number of times... [It] pushed Brad over the edge [and] made him think that getting married was a huge mistake - instead of bringing them together, it drove them further apart."

But do MstarsNews readers truly believe such over-the-top claims?

Meanwhile, another rep for GossipCop insists that such oversensationalized chit-chat is "complete nonsense" -

Not only is Pitt proud of 'By the Sea' and his wife's work on it, but the couple's promotional tour has been an enjoyable time together, and not caused any marriage problems. Our insider notes that Pitt and Jolie are film veterans who understand that not every movie resonates with audiences.
