It looks like Supergirl is going to have to face an all-new challenge on the hit CBS series in the coming episodes, as it looks like star Melissa Benoist is going to have to face her... husband? That's right, the starlet might be finally getting her groove on the superhero series, but Benoist is about to be swept off her feet by her real-life husband Blake Jenner, and we've got to say that we are particular excited for the Glee reunion between the former co-stars.

According to E! News, Jenner will first make his appearance in the new year when he will be arriving in National City to throw a hitch into Kara's relationship with her boss Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart).

The site is reporting that Jenner is gearing up to play character Adam Foster, who is apparently from Grant's past and when he shows up in town he not only causes some drama for Flockhart, but also develops a relationship with Kara.

According to PEOPLE Benoist and Jenner met on the set of another series, Glee, when they were both cast in 2012 as love interests, Marley and Ryder. The relationship blossomed into something more when they got engaged in 2013 and then were married earlier this year.

However, with the addition of Blake to the cast, Melissa is not focused so much on Kara having a love interests, but rather for Kara to be a role model for fans of the show.

"I just would like her journey to be something that any person could relate to and/or be affected by and inspired by," the star explained in a recent statement. "I think part of the draw of the comic book genre is that it is a way to escape and be inspired by something and be something greater than yourself: A strong being that can accomplish the unthinkable, but also what I love about her is that she struggles and the ebb and flow of her life is really human. I just hope that people can relate to it."
