WWE taped "Smackdown" Tuesday night March 5 in Albany, New York. The show will air Friday night March 8, but we have spoilers for the show below. If you don't want to wait then you can check out what happens on "Friday Night Smackdown" and the build up for "WrestleMania 29." The two main matches of the night were Big Show versus Sheamus and the world champion Alberto Del Rio versus Dolph Ziggler.
"Smackdown" kicks off with a segment from Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter. Luckily for fans they were interrupted by Del Rio who showed a video he and his ring announcer Ricardo made mocking Swagger and Coulter's videos.
The first match of the night was between team "Hell No" and two parts of the "Three Man Band." Daniel Bryan and Kane defeated Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre.
Next up, Ryback reportedly defeated Damien Sandow pretty easily. Ryaback used his main move "Shellshocked" to defeat Sandow.
The Big Show is interviewed in a backstage segment with Matt Striker asking him about being attacked after "Monday Night Raw" by "The Shield." Big Show blames Randy Orton and Sheamus for the attack and builds up his match with Sheamus later in the night.
In one of the two main event matches of the night, Alberto Del Rio defeated Dolph Ziggler. According to Wrestle Zone the match lasted about 20 minutes and it was described as a excellent back and forth match. However, Ziggler once again loses. When is the last time Ziggler won a match?
During the match Ricardo went to throw water at Big E, but hit AJ instead. After the match in a backstage segment, Daniel Bryan approached AJ as she was drying off and reportedly dissed her pretty bad.
The next match was a squash match with Mark Henry defeating Yoshi Tatsu. The night's fifth match featured the women. Tamina defeated Kaitlyn with some help from Layla. After the match Cody Rhodes and Sandow were talking backstage about Kaitlyn. WWE used this as an opportunity for Sandow to tell fans that Kaitlyn is from an inferior gene pool.
Do we finally get the wrestling debut of Fandango!? Nope. Justin Gabriel was ready for his match, but Lillian didn't pronounce Fandango's name to his liking so Fandango did not wrestle.
The main event ended in a no contest after "The Shield" came out and attacked Seamus. Randy Orton came out to help and Big Show helped clear the ring as well. However, Big Show then hit Sheamus with his "WMD" punch only to then get an "RKO" from Randy Orton to end the show.
Some of the bigger questions that seem to come from this Friday night's "Smackdown." Will we see "The Shield" against two good guys Randy Orton and Sheameus along with a bad guy in the Big Show? Also, when will Dolph Ziggler cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase? Yes, he still has that thing.
