The first live audience fan voting episode for season 12 of "American Idol" took place Tuesday night. 10 women sang their hearts out in front of the crowd and a live television audience. The good news is fans can now vote for who they want to move on. The bad news is we won't find out who moves on until Thursday. Wednesday night the 10 final male contestants will perform and Thursday the results of the fan voting will be revealed.

Tuesday night 10 women performed, but only five will be moving on to the next round of "American Idol." Out of the ten women who sang last night, eight of them put forth very impressive performances. In a surprise, Zoanette Johnson, who blew away the judges last week with her rendition of "Circle of Life," disappointed with an off key version of Tina Turner's "What's Love Got to Do With It." Johnson went from first to worst in one week.

Another singer who failed to impress Tuesday night was Alaskan Adriano Latonio. Her performance was no where near as good as the others who performed before here and the judges were already counting her out. The only other singer who didn't perform very well was Tenna Torres. Unfortunately her performance just didn't stand out like the other ones. The one thing to remember though, is that the fans are voting, so despite weak performances from Latonio, Torres and Johnson, they can still make it into the top five.

If the top five were to be chosen based on performance alone, it would be extremely difficult. Seven women all had fantastic performances that garnered rave reviews from the judges.

Janelle Arthur sang "If I Can Dream." The judges really liked the natural country feel she presents. Mariah Carey said she has an "America's sweetheart type of a thing" going for her. Then there was Aubrey Cleland who performed Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry." It was a very good performance, but I just think there were stronger performances last night. You could argue there were five stronger performances last night.

Breanna Steer sang "Flaws and All," which divided the judges. However Keith Urban was a fan. What do you think?

In my opinion there were four women who were clearly the best, although I'm sure some of Mstarz's readers would disagree.

Amber Holcomb wowed the crowd and the judges with her rendition of Whitney Houston's "I Believe in You and Me." Mariah Carey summed it up well when she said, "You're 18 years old and you can sing your behind off."

Angie Miller performed "Never Gone" by Colton Dixon, who was an "Idol" finalist last season. Carey said she was "blown away" while Urban called Miller a "true artist."

Candice Glover sang John Legend's "Ordinary People," which brought the judges to their feet. She actually left Nicki Minaj speechless!

The best performance of the night may have to go to Kree Harrison who performed Faith Hill's "Stronger." The judges all loved the performance and it quite possibly could have made Harrison the new front runner for the women.

Now that the women have gone, the men are up tonight (Wednesday). After they perform and the fans vote, we will find out who made it through to the next round Thursday night. Stay tuned!
