Reggae superstar Bob Marley died more than 30 years after his battle with cancer ended. However, the music legend continues to attract a loyal and large following of fans who follow the singer's philosophy of peace and love. You could argue the Jamaican musician's cultural influence far outweighs his musical impact. According to LAtimes.com, Marley's family has now struck deals with the Creative Artists Agency and music merchandising company Bravado in a move that figures to grow Marley's brand to even further heights.

Marley is already one of the most successful musical artists of all time. Now, it seems, his legacy will continue to strengthen through merchandising. Marley's daughter Cedalla Marley believes the deals with Bravado and CAA will continue her father's legacy.

"We believe these relationships will undoubtedly expand our father's growing legacy to new levels," Cedella told the Los Angeles Times. "We will still be able to spread his music and universal message of peace and love through these new avenues."

According to the LA Times article, Bravado plans on creating a full apparel line based after Marley that will be marketed through major U.S. retailers such as Walmart, Target, and Hot Topic. Bravado Chief Executive Tom Bennett explains that Marley is more than just a musician. He is a lifestyle for many.

"In our world, one of the biggest properties out there -- one of the best sellers historically, over the last 10 years -- has been Bob Marley," Bennett told the LA Times. "He's got a lock on the reggae world. It's a great lifestyle brand (and) it's very attractive to kids at a certain age. It does well in beachwear and surf-wear. It ties into the whole culture."

As a part of the deal, Bravado acquired the rights to the Marley family's apparel company Zion Rootswear. As for CAA, they will continue to grow Marley's brand through his media portfolio. It seems like everything is on the table including film, television, digital media, and games. One thing is for certain, Marley's legend continues to grow decades after his death. Who knows just how far his impact will go.
