Kanye West says that he received a low ranking on the MTV "Hottest MCs list" was because of his relationship with Kim Kardashian. In an interview with New York's Hot 97 station on Tuesday the star bashed the list and says it makes him uncomfortable, "Yeah, number seven bothers me," he added, "I feel like for them to put me at number seven, they had to bring up things they didn't like."

The rapper told DJ Enuff that the reason he was rank number 7 on the exclusive list was because the judges didn't like his Cruel Summer album, "You can't name five records like that on an album." Kanye continued, "It's definitely not about a body of work," he says. "Possibly it could be about overall rap MC swag."

West admitted that his relationship with the "Keeping up with the Kardashian star and association with high fashion folks as the reason of snub for the number one spot, "What happens with these type of judges and the people that review it, when I come in and I have the pink Polo and the backpack, then I'm checking all the boxes of that A Tribe Called Quest era and J Dilla all that, so they want to champion it. They don't like Givenchy Kanye. They don't like Kanye in a kilt, they don't like Kanye in a relationship."

Kanye then started attacking MTV associates and Kardashian's ex, Kris Humphries who he says was the hottest rap line he had in 2012. The rapper added that he gave MTV host Sway Calloway his first TV, "I can't believe it. I gave Sway his first TV. Really, I didn't really want to call and talk about the No. 7 list, I just wanted to tell everyone I gave Sway his first TV. And he needs to remember that," Kanye said before hanging up.
