'Marvel's Agents of Shield' Season 3 SPOILERS: Midseason Finale 'Maveth' Plot Description

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is rapidly approaching its Season 3 midseason finale, and the official plot description for the episode should get fans hyped, as we're heading back to Maveth, the planet where Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) spent six months!

Comic Book Movie has posted the official synopsis, which you can check out below:

“'Maveth' – S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra go head-to-head in a battle that will change Coulson's world forever. While Daisy and her team of Inhumans fight to keep Hydra at bay, Coulson and Fitz take the ultimate risk, in the epic winter finale of 'Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

'Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' stars Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Agent Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter, Adrianne Palicki as Agent Bobbi Morse, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso 'Mack' Mackenzie and Luke Mitchell as Lincoln Campbell.

Guest starring are Blair Underwood as Andrew Garner, Constance Zimmer as Rosalind Price, Juan Pablo Raba as Joey Gutierrez, Powers Booth as Gideon Malick, Mark Dacascos as Giyera, Garrett Hines as Hydra soldier and Brandon Ford Green as third soldier."

There's a lot to take in here, including the extensive list of guest stars. But let's focus on the title.

The previous episode that featured Maveth, "4,722 Hours," was one of the best of the entire series, as it kept a sole focus on Simmons' plight while on the alien world. It also introduced us to Will, the astronaut that she might love and is so desperate to save, and "It," the entity that Hydra wants to bring to Earth.

It seems like Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) and Simmons, along with a few others, are headed to the alien world. But does this mean "It" will somehow find a way to Earth? And what consequences will that have?
