Chris Rock and his ex-wife, Malaak, have been dealing with divorce proceedings since late last year. They share two biological daughters. According to TMZ, Chris Rock has not seen their third child, Ntombi from South Africa, who is now seven, since the split because he believes that his estranged wife did something "shady" to get her to America.

In 2008, Ntombi was 6 months old and lived with the Rock family upon her arrival to the states. Ntombi was enrolled in a New Jersey school, but her presence sparked an international investigation.

What happened to Ntombi's parents? They are believed to be unemployed South Africans and Malaak thought she was better fit to care for the child.

Last year, Rock and Malaak decided to call their relationship quits. Since their separation, Rock has seen his two biological children but he has not seen Ntombi at all. The divorce brought national coverage to the child. South African officials opened an investigation to find out exactly how Ntombi was living in the U.S., without there being any evidence of a legal adoption.

TMZ reports that sources close to Rock say he never signed any legal documents to adopt her in the first place and that Malaak was solely responsible for bringing Ntombi to the states. It is unclear just why her birth parents allowed her to move to the states with the Rock family.

Rock's rep tells TMZ he does not have an adopted child. According to NY Daily News, Malaak states that Ntombi is only here on a visitor visa unti she can adopt her officially.

There are so many questions concerning this matter... Was the "adopted" daughter, Ntombi, included in the child support preceding between Rock and Malaak? Where is the 7-year-old South African now? Will Ntombi's biological parents be allowed to gain their parental rights back, according to South African laws?
