Bollywood's Salman Khan Has “No Interest” in Doing Hollywood Films

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is currently enjoying the success of his recent family drama film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. In a recent interview, Khan talked about his interests in working in a Hollywood film.

Khan is treated as one of India's most bankabale stars, has set box-office records with Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which was released last week by Fox Studios India and Fox International Pictures. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film recorded the highest opening of all time for a Bollywood film in India, collecting $27 million over its opening weekend. Not only in India, but also in U.S., the film was opened in 284 screens and earned $2.4 million and landed at the ninth spot of the box office. However, Khan who has gained worldwide popularity has no intesest in pursuing a career in Hollywood film.

After the Prem Ratan Dhan Payo's success party, when he was asked if the film's success could lead him to consider work in Hollywood flick. The 49-year-old star was quoted by Indian Express saying, "I am happy being here. I have earned respect here and it has taken time for me to achieve it. I would have to work again to earn that respect and love [in Hollywood]."

Khan also said that he loves to work in India and to deliver dialogues in the Hindi language and he, and all his fans, will feel a little weird if he will deliver dialogue in English. This does not make Khan stop for putting his desire on the table. Khan said that if Hollywood has a story related to Indians then he might think to do it.

"If it's a film related to [Indians], I might do it but I don't have any interest or craze for it," Khan was quoted as saying by the Express. "But I have no interest in doing Hollywood films. Our Hindi film industry should increase [grow] so much that there should be no comparison."

Khan will soon be seen playing a wrestler in upcoming sports drama film, Sultan. MStars News also reported earlier that Bajirao Mastani star, Deepika Padukone may star along with him but nothing has been confirmed by both the stars.
