Like many of us, David Spade really wants to know why Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were at the 40th anniversary episode of Saturday Night Live. And while he was hoping Conan O'Brien could help him out with an answer, well, it looks as if he's still S.O.L.

Spade appeared on Monday night's episode of CONAN to discuss his new book, Almost Interesting. During his panel, the two comedians began talking about Saturday Night Live and their experiences when they were working at the show – with Spade being a cast member and O'Brien a writer at the same time.

Upon discussion of Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary, which celebrated, you guessed it, 40 years of SNL, Spade admitted that it was "really fun," with the exception of having to sit behind both Kardashian and West.

"I did see Kanye and Kimberly ... because they were sitting in the audience in front of me." O'Brien then asked what they were doing there, to which the Joe Dirt star admitted he had no idea. "Great question. I thought you might know!"

He later joked that they must "RSVP the sh*t out of everything," because they always seem to be everywhere.

Which seems right.

The fact that the Kardashian-West crew sat in front of Spade only further solidified the notion that they dominate everything—despite being made fun of more times than anyone on SNL. It's something Spade immediately took notice to, as he admitted he was on the show for six years yet had a worse seat than the famous names.

"I didn't think twice about it," he joked with O'Brien.

Having said all that, let's not forget that West performed at SNL 40. So, maybe that's why they were there?

Still, Spade probably should have had a better seat. Just saying.
