2 Dead In Police Standoff, Guman Kills Himself And Innocent Bystandard, Wife In Critical Condition And 3 Children In State Custody

Two men, including the gunman are dead after a standoff with police in Los Angeles. The unidentified gunman killed a man and barricaded himself in a home occupied with three children before taking his own life.

According to KABC-TV, Deputy Chief Robert Green says a woman who may be the wife of the gunman was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being wounded. The standoff with police started off with a domestic dispute around 3 a.m. on Friday.

A man who was sitting in his truck outside his house was fatally killed after being struck by a stray bullet as the gunman fired at a police officer, missing him. According to City News Service, during the two hour standoff and 8-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl were released from the home says Cmdr. Andy Smith. The children later told police that both their mother and father were dead in their home.

Around 5am, SWAT found the man dead with a self-inflicted wound, and his wife was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition from a gunshot wound. Police also found another child, a 1-year-old boy in the home. Green says the children will be held in State custody, "They'll be in our custody until we identify relatives," Green said.
