Lamb Of God Vocalist Randy Blythe Though Free From Charges Is Not A Happy Man

Heavy metal band Lamb of God's frontman, Randy Blythe, was acquitted of manslaughter charges following the death of a fan in Prague, Czech Republic.

Though the 42-year-old vocalist is a free man he is not leaving Prague a happy man. He was acquitted by the Prague court for the death of a fan during the 2010 concert. The fan, Daniel Nosek, jumped on the stage and later fell on his head and died of his injuries. The court trial went on for nine months.  Blythe showed great maturity and composure in his conduct during and after the trial. He spent 37 days in Czech jail following his arrest.  

He left an Instagram message superimposed on a photograph of skulls saying that "I am leaving Prague. I hope not to return for a while."  Blythe called Prague magical and urged people to visit it. He said that the people were not violent towards him. He also revealed that he met the dead fan's family, "A young man is still dead, & his family still suffers. Please remember that fact. This family did no wrong, & have shown me great kindness- with silence, with actions, & finally with words- they spoke on my behalf to the court, & we had a private talk afterwards," he said.

He said, "I wish them only the best, & will keep them in my thoughts & prayers." He even goes on to quote Kafka, "Prague doesn't let go...This old crone has claws. One has to yield, or else." 

He wants to turn this opportunity into something worthwhile, "Now I will go home & try to see what good I can make come out the destruction that occurred here- it is the only correct thing to do."

If convicted, Blythe faced five to six years of prison time in Prague.
