The dancehall music world has endured another tragedy. J. Capri, the well-known dancehall songstress has died at the tender age of 23. According to the Jamaica Observer, singer passed away due to complications sustained from a car crash.

The 23-year-old was being hospitalized at the University Hospital of the West Indies in St. Andrew. After being rushed to the hospital following the car crash she was involved in, the rising star passed away.

On Nov. 23 the "Reverse It" singer was driving in the Barbican area of St. Andrew at about 3 a.m. when she reportedly lost control and slammed into a wall.

J.Capri, whose real name is Jordan Phillip reportedly underwent surgery after sustaining a fractured skull and brain damage. Days after the singer was placed in an induced coma she didn't show any signs of improvement.

Shortly after an appeal went out for people to donate blood on her behalf. The outcry was placed on Twitter asking anyone to step forward and donate. Unfortunately dancehall artist Deejay Radijah's blood donation was rejected because of the fact that he has tattoos.

Capri was well-known in the dancehall circuit for hits such as "Pull Up To Mi Bumper", "Wine and Kotch" and "Boom and Bend Ova."

Over the last few years the dancehall music world has endured several loses such as the imprisonment of Buju Banton and Vybz Kartel.

Social media has been bussing with fans and celebrities sharing their condolences and some who are simply in denial that the young star is no longer with us. No word has been released as of yet for the funeral arrangements for the singer.

Our deepest and sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of J.Capri.
