Who knew that a simple statement on Twitter could lead to so much controversy? That was the burning question for Steph Curry's wife Ayesha, as she was the target for a lot of shade. Luckily for her, she has a stand up guy by her side. In the most politically correct way, the Golden State Warriors baller defended his lady love.

According to NBC, the 26-year-old had Twitter going crazy after making a general comment about her style choices and dressing classy. Yesterday, Ayesha was being targeted by tons of women via Twitter for "slut shaming."

Being the gentlemen and all around good guy that we know him to be, Curry was quick to come to his wife's defense. CSN Sideline reporter Rosalyn Gold-Onwude spoke to Curry about the entire backlash his wife was receiving. "He was surprised people took offense to it. He thought Twitter was for expressing opinions."

"Steph Curry said all Ayesha did was express her style preference. It was not a judgment." Gold-Onwude said in a tweet. Being the fun-loving jokester that he is Curry shared that he and his teammates had a good laugh about all the memes circulating from the Twitter debacle.

As a woman, Curry shared her beliefs and morals not in an effort to put others down but to show whom she is as a woman. While everyone is entitled to feel how they want to feel many people are speculating that if she weren't in the spotlight as Steph Curry's wife she wouldn't be receiving so much hate.

Twitter users are known to go back and forth from small things to the most controversial. In a world where anything you say can quickly be taken out of context, especially when posted on social media, the backlash was expected.

Do you guys think Steph Curry handled the situation as he was supposed too? Let us know down below!
