New reports from The Guardian claim that the west London home of entertainer Rita Ora was broken into a week before her fellow X-Factor judge Simon Cowell was also burglarized. The thieves took cash, jewelry and assorted electronics equipment. As the 25-year old musician lives within three miles of Cowell, police believe the same gang of crooks may be responsible for both crimes as well as other unsolved neighborhood robberies.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan police claimed, "Police in Brent were called to an address in NW10 at 5.54 a.m. on Saturday, 28 November following reports of a burglary. An investigation is under way. No arrests have been made."

Cowell's robbery took place in Holland Park on December 4 while he was sleeping upstairs with his partner Lauren Silverman and their 21-month-old son, Eric. A 37-year-old man was arrested and later questioned that day but is currently out on bail awaiting further inquiries.

Although unlike Cowell's robbery, the singer wasn't there when it happened, but according to an unnamed source, the incident did hit very close to her heart.

"Thankfully, Rita wasn't home at the time, but a family member was sleeping upstairs so it could have been so much worse if they had been disturbed. They called the police who arrived after 5 a.m. after they found out that cash, jewelry and electrical goods had been stolen. The police have told Rita she needs to look seriously into the possibility that this was an inside job and could be connected to a number of burglaries in the area, including the one at Simon's house."

The British-born singer, who continues to add to her acting resume after Fifty Shades of Grey with a recent part in Southpaw, divides her time between a semi-detached property and her townhouse in Brent, but her whereabouts at the time of the burglary are unknown. So far no arrests have been made.

On a happier and more festive note, Ora, which is also the title of her 2012 debut album, just performed a video for Love magazine's 2015 Advent Calendar in which she dances to "Jingle Bell Rock" in the same outfit and manner as the actresses in the 2004 Lindsay Lohan comedy Mean Girls.
