Kurt Russell, who is promoting his movie The Hateful Eight, took on an anti-gun reporter named Jeffery Wells in a tense interview. The actor told the interviewer it is “absolutely insane” to believe that gun control will end terrorist attacks. Russell, 64, slammed the reporter who stated it was easy for terrorists to get guns, replying, "What are you gonna do? Outlaw everything?"

The actor was discussing his film The Hateful Eight by Quentin Tarantino, when Hollywood Elsewhere reporter Jeffrey Wells talked about Tarantino movies and the use of gun violence.

Russell told the interviewer, "If you think gun control is going to change a terrorists’ point of view, I think you’re, like, out of your mind."

Wells brought up President Barack Obama's argument that all people on 'no-fly' lists should be banned from buying firearms. Wells added that guns were a "metaphor that disenfranchised white guys need", which really set Russell off!

The actor feels potential shooters would think twice about consequences, explaining, "Dude, you’re about to find out what I’m gonna do, and that’s gonna worry you a lot more. And that‘s what we need.

"That will change the concept of gun culture, as you call it, to something [like] reality. Which is, if I’m a hockey team and I’ve got some guy bearing down on me as a goal tender, I’m not concerned about what he’s gonna do — I’m gonna make him concerned about what I’m gonna do to stop him. That’s when things change."

Russell replied that people could make bombs, knives to stab you, and cars to run people over.

Wells argued that the San Bernardino terrorists didn’t use cars, but the actor reminded the interviewer that terrorists have used cars in the past to kill people.

Russell said, "But they’ve killed others that way, haven’t they? Yeah, yeah. Whaddaya gonna do? Outlaw everything? That isn’t the answer."

The interview became even more tense when Wells suggesting "putting some controls", which appeared to further anger Russell.

The actor stated, "Are you serious about that? What good will that…? Oh my God. You and I just disagree."
