Christina Milian broke down while revealing that she had an abusive boyfriend in her past. And before you say anything, no, it was not Lil Wayne? In a new interview with the Huffington Post, the singer and reality star opened up about her abusive past at the age of 18 years old.

Now at 34, and a mother, Milian admitted that she was holding her past in for so long, and said that she lived in fear.

"My experience happened when I was 18 and I've been holding on to this for too long. I lived in fear for a long time. I'm here to save someone. I really want to help other people, especially the youth," Milian said.

While talking about the relationship that could have ended her life, Milian said that she was warned by her father that her former boyfriend wasn't a good guy.

"Despite my dad warning that 'Young boy's love is not real. Boys are just trying to get into your panties,' the relationship started quickly. I was 18 and he was 19."

Milian claimed that she stayed in a relationship with her abuser because she was fatherless after her parents divorced. "I know that my dad not being in my life made a huge impact on me. I was brainwashed that I couldn't do anything without him."

She added that she "stayed based on fear that" her abuser would hurt her family.

"He convinced me that I was nothing without him. I was insecure. He had me believe that everyone else was the enemy. Yet, a little voice in my head said this is wrong. If you stay you will die."

Milian said there were times she would run outside half naked, after she was kicked, choked, and stomped on. "I remember waking one morning and he was kicking me and stomping on me. It was over nothing. He accused me of lying about a boy. Then the violence escalated. When we had arguments he would choke me and kick me. I stayed with him in a house in Laurel Canyon hills, with no one around, and there were times when I ran half naked, with no phone, out of the house after him beating me up. I would run. Then, I would see his car lights coming at me, to run me over."

In the video below, Milian, a domestic violence victim and survivor and her mother relived the singer's scary past. While revealing her new app, Stop Attack, Milian explained to her mother the app was created for people in need of help when something is going on like abuse, or a violent situation.

They can actually record the attack which will help their case, and immediately notify police and loved ones. Milian's mother chimed in and said that she remembered how fearful her daughter was of her past boyfriend. She said that Milian stayed in that relationship so long because he threatened her family. Milian watched her mother tearfully say that she thought she was going to lose her daughter.

MStars News is glad that Milian is still alive and survived her abusive past. Hopefully she can teach her own daughter bravery from her past so that she too learns what kind of relationships are unhealthy.
