Guns N' Roses fan Darren Wright got a little more than he bargained for during the finale of GN'R's Saturday arena show in Perth, Australia.

According to The West Australian, the 39-year-old Wright was injured when lead singer Axl Rose threw his cordless microphone into the crowd. The mic hit Wright square in the mouth, chipping his two front teeth (Pics here)

Wright was blinded by the "bright lights and explosions" of the show's conclusions and didn't know what to make of the impact at first.

"I thought I had been punched," Wright said. "I was quite stunned and it took a few seconds to realize what was going on. I could feel bits of teeth in my mouth. Then someone is climbing through my legs to grab the microphone."

Tour promoter Andrew McManus contacted Wright after the event, apologizing and offering him a signed microphone. Really.

Wright doesn't want memorabilia. He wants his teeth fixed. He says that his two front teeth are chipped and one of them has a painful exposed nerve.

"In reality I don't think the microphone is going to fix my teeth or pay for the dentist," he said. "I'm a father of four on a single income doing it hard in Perth."

Wright's dentist estimated the cost of the dental work needed to fix his teeth at $5,000. He has engaged a local law firm and plans to sue the lead singer for the cost of the surgery.

Wright says that he is still a GN'R fan and doesn't "harbor any ill feelings."

"I don't think he[Rose] intended to do it, but it came at me at a fairly flat and hard trajectory. Those cordless microphones are not light. I'm surprised it didn't do more damage," he said.

What do you think? Should Axl pony up the money for Wright's teeth? Did Wright know the risk when he got that close to the stage?
