When it comes to showing the world of royals, there are only two names that come to mind for any Bollywood movie fan - Asuthosh Gowariker and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. What Gowariker achieved in Jodha-Akbar, starring Hrithik Roshan, Bhansali did the same with his magnum opus, Bajiaro Mastani, but at the same time, he tried to maintain the space of the film.  The result is phenomenal.

Bhansali, who is famous in Bollywood for making films like Devdas, Hum Dil Chuke Sanam and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, again proves that when it comes to showing a world full of palatial sets, detailed costumes and astounding cinematography, there is no one like him who can do the justice with the story, and at the same time, maintain all the other things.

Bajirao Mastani follows the story of Bajirao (played by Ranveer Singh), a warrior who has won 40 battles in a row. The warrior is so ambitious that after winning for 40 times, he now wants to remove the Mughal Empire from Delhi and rule over the entirety of India. The fight between the Maratha and the Mughals happens at the same time when Bajirao meets his wife, Kashi (played by Priyanka Chopra) and his mistress (played by Deepika Padukone).

The life of Bajiro, which was once dedicated to his state and his ambition to rule the country are now overtaken by his personal relationship problems. The warrior is now in the midst of a religious tussle where a Hindu cannot marry a Muslim.

The songs like, "Malhar," "Aayat" and "Pinga" show that Bhansali is truly a magician. The songs are so perfectly blended with the story that one can actually imagine Singh as Bajirao and Padukone as Mastani.

In a 158-minute-long film, one sees the children of Bajirao growing up. The clash between him and his mother, the clash between him and his first wife and how Mastani can fight the Mughals singlehandedly. The period drama film has a manipulative script but at the same time the scenes are so beautifully penned that one really forgets that he is in a cinema hall and watching a fiction film.

Singh has delivered a fine performance, but even he could have done a little better if he has given a little more space as an individual character. Chopra has only a little time in the film but she leaves a big impact with her charm. Padukone, on the other hand, is a sure-shot winner in Bajirao Mastani. The actress, who was recently seen in Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha, leaves the audience in utter amazement.

Mstars News previously reported that Bhansali sold the movie rights to some entertainment channel at $7.5 million dollars, and given the buzz the film has created with their marketing, the film can be a box-office hit.

If you are a fan of Padukone or you love to watch something on a grand scale, then do not miss watching Bajirao Mastani.
