Looks like Miguel and Chris Brown have one more thing in common. The R&B singers both neglected to stand and applaud for Frank Ocean when he won the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album, and the both seem to have a crippling unawareness about how their own actions are perceived.

TMZ caught up with the “Adorn” singer and asked him if he regretted not standing for Ocean (as everyone else in the theater, minus Brown, did).

He explained that disrespecting Ocean was “just his competitive nature.”

When the TMZ reporter attempted to give Miguel an out, asking if he would stand know that he knows the way the public viewed his actions, the singer hollered over his shoulder “No.”

Check out the video below, courtesy of TMZ:

Ocean bested both Brown and Miguel for the title of Best Urban Contemporary album with his critically-acclaimed channel ORANGE. The album has garnered four singles “Thinkin Bout You”, “Sweet Life”, “Lost” and “Pyramids”. The album has sold over half a million copies since its July release. Miguel was nominated for his Kaleidoscope Dream but ultimately lost out to Ocean. Chris Brown’s 2012 album Fortune was also beaten by channel ORANGE.

Ocean and Brown have gone on to have a rather rocky relationship including a fight between the artists outside of a recording studio.

What do you think? Should Miguel have stood for Ocean? Is there a Miguel-Frank Ocean beef a-brewin’?
