Breaking character on Saturday Night Live is oftentimes one of the funniest moments in a sketch. And during last night's episode with hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, key player Kate McKinnon just could not keep it together alongside Colin Jost during Weekend Update.

And naturally, the in-studio and at-home audiences didn't mind at all.

McKinnon stopped by Update as "Somebody's Mom" named Deenie. The mother's time on Update was meant to give viewers a wrap-up of what went down on some of their favorite shows in 2015. Unfortunately, she really just talked about some highlights of a soap opera she watches.

Or, well, listens to while she colors in her "adult coloring book."

Talking about characters known (to her) as "Mustache Man," "Perfect Skin" and "Sexpot," McKinnon took to Update with a Tupperware filled with baked salmon, eating her way through the sketch while sort of telling people the highlights of what may or may not be The Young and the Restless.

That is until she had some trouble getting that salmon down. Which is when she and Jost lost it.

In the end, if you're looking for a recap of some of your favorite shows in 2015, well, look somewhere else, folks.

Of course, breaking character is nothing new on Saturday Night Live. Just a couple of weeks ago, host Ryan Gosling couldn't keep himself composed during a sketch regarding a group of teens being abducted by aliens. Oddly enough, the root of the break was some lines delivered by, you guessed it, Kate McKinnon.

Back when now Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon was on SNL, the comedian became known for breaking character is a number of sketches, specifically when appearing alongside friend and fellow castmate Horatio Sanz. Which is why Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg decided to poke some fun and create a little tune about character breaks titled "That's When You Break" on SNL 40.
