While many viewers tuned into The Voice this past season to watch the romance blossom between coaches Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, it seems that when the show returns this spring for a brand new season the romance won't be one of the draws that fans will be flipping on their TVs for. No, this couple hasn't broken up, but Stefani will be replaced once again by Christina Aguilera for the spring installment. Xtina fans might have patiently awaited her return, but it seems like there is a little tension behind the scenes, as producers are still wanting to capitalize on the ratings that the Shelton-Stefani romance brought in.

According to Radar Online the pop star is contractually obligated to return to the show, and she allegedly feels that Stefani tried to use her relationship with Shelton as leverage to have her replace Aguilera.

"Christina said that it was her show and gave a really big [spiel] about how she thinks that Gwen used this Blake thing to try and stay on the show," an insider explained. "Now people are dreading her return."

Shelton even was trying to get his new girlfriend a spot on the panel along with Aguilera, as he joked about the series having five judges from now on.

"They have been switching the female judges on and off for over three seasons now and it has nothing to do with how well Gwen is performing," a source explained according to The Inquistr. "It has more to do with just keeping it different by changing it up. As of right now there are no plans to make it five judges."

Yet, despite the alleged drama, according to a statement from NBC, via TVLine the producers are so excited to see what Aguilera, and the rest of the judges will bring to the show's tenth season.

"The coaches on The Voice continue to bring incredible energy, unrivaled musical expertise and a want-to-win attitude that makes for the perfect ingredients of a two-time Emmy-winning show," president of late night entertainment, Paul Telegdy explained.
