Iman Shumpert showed a softer side of himself after talking about the birth of his daughter when his fiancee Teyana Taylor went into labor inside of their bathtub last week.

In an interview with ABC, the new parents relived those scary, but special moments delivering their daughter one month earlier than her January due date. Shumpert admitted that he was a nervous wreck with Taylor, who was eight months pregnant when their daughter came and told him that she wasn't going to be able to make it to the hospital.

"She's telling me, 'I'm not going to make it to the hospital,'" he laughed and remembered. "But I'm like, 'You got to make it to the hospital because I don't know what's going on. I don't know what to do.'"

Shumpert said that the birth of his daughter, Iman Tayla Jr., was something that he'd never forget. "This was an assist that I'm never going to forget. I done forgot a lot of passes that I've thrown to LeBron [James], so this one I won't forget though."

As the news source played back the chaotic 911 call, you could hear a scared Shumpert tell the operator that he had his daughter in his hands.

Before the little girl made her debut into the world, Shumpert remembered taking a deep breathe as Taylor did her breathing routines to deliver their baby. "It was just time for her to come, so we counted to ten, and she pushed, and then it came out," the basketball star said, while Taylor claimed he was "too calm."

"It was like finishing a long marathon," the 25-year-old said before breaking down in tears. MStars News previously reported that Iman Jr. was born on Dec. 16, early in the morning at 6:42 a.m.

The new father said that his daughter was "the best Christmas present" he had ever received. It looks like they already have a father-daughter bond. In the video clip below, Shumpert is singing to his precious little one as she appears to be very aware of his voice.

After her birth, Shumpert returned to the basketball court on Sunday where the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Philadelphia 76ers.
