WWE will air a special live edition of Thursday Night SmackDown tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern on the USA Network as part of the channel's special holiday week of WWE programming. Dean Ambrose will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler tonight. We've got a full preview for you, so let's see what's on deck for tonight.

The company has plenty of time until its next pay-per-view, Royal Rumble, at the end of January, so it looks like we're not wasting any time to advance some of the feuds. Ambrose and Owens fought for the Intercontinental title at TLC, and the Lunatic Fringe captured the belt.

Owens didn't take his loss well, so when Ambrose and Ziggler fought the next night on Monday Night Raw, KO came out and assaulted both men. He punctuated the attack by powerbombing Ziggler onto Ambrose's body.

Owens and Ziggler then scuffled last night on Raw when The Show Off presented Neville with his Slammy award for Breakout Star of the Year. Owens broke up the party and said he should have won the award for beating John Cena in his first match on the main roster. He then called Ziggler a has-been, which led to a brawl. The two men had a proper match later in the night, and Owens earned the win with the Pop-Up Powerbomb.

Tonight has the makings of a final match in this miniature feud, though it's always possible that WWE extends it further. The company just put the belt on Ambrose, so it's not likely that they hotshot the title back to Owens or give Ziggler another reign, especially because Ambrose's buddy Roman Reigns is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Speaking of Reigns, the champion has gotten so far inside Stephanie McMahon's head that she should be charging him rent. Steph freaked out multiple times on Raw last night as Reigns refused to listen to orders and ruined her plans to punish Dean Ambrose inside a steel cage (FYI: Ambrose received six staples in his head after the match). Her frustration eventually boiled over at the end of the show and she smacked the hell out of poor Tom Phillips, who just wanted to get a quick interview.

Will the WWE World Heavyweight Champion continue to irritate the Authority? Or will a new contender for his title finally present himself? And let's not forget that the League of Nations and Sheamus are still out there.

Finally, The New Day will defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Lucha Dragons. Don't expect a title change tonight, but do expect a solid match.
