Jessica Michibata & Formula One Driver Jenson Button Seek Divorce 1 Year After Marriage

After a tough year for any couple, including robbers looting their home, McLaren Formula One driver Jenson Button and his wife of one year, fashion model Jessica Michibata, have announced that they've split and are currently seeking a divorce.  Shocked fans all over the world are wondering what happened to drive the couple apart but their representatives are only giving small amounts of information.

The Daily Mail reports that reps for the couple have confirmed that Button and Michibata are calling it quits on their relationship barely a year after tying the knot in Hawaii in December 2014.

Not many details are known, but a spokesperson insists there was no infidelity.  "Jenson and Jessica have decided to go their separate ways and it is very amicable," a spokesperson for the race driver shared with the media. "There is no one else involved."

In any case, it seems that while the estranged pair has decided to end their marriage, there's no bad blood between them at the point, and Button and Michibata have decided to part ways amicably.  However, it remains to be seen whether things will remain as civil when it's time to split their earnings in the divorce settlement.  More than a few couples have run into trouble when the nitty gritty details of splitting property must be addressed.

According to The New York Daily News, Button and Michibata didn't sign a pre-nuptial agreement nor do they have any sort of previous settlement when it comes to splitting their finances.  Because of this, they (through representatives) are currently discussing how to split their earnings, as the British McLaren star racer is worth approximately $52 million.
