Chad Lowe of 'Pretty Little Liars' and Wife Expecting Third Child

Chad Lowe has announced that his wife, Kim Painter , is pregnant with their third child.

The Pretty Little Liars actor, who plays Byron Montgomery on the show, shared the news on Twitter: "My wife and I are thrilled to announce that our family is growing! Baby number 3 due this spring! #Blessed."

The 47-year-old former ER star and Painter already have two daughters -- 6, and Fiona, 3.

Lowe also confirmed the news to People magazine: "We are so thrilled that our family is growing. Mabel and Fiona can't wait to be big sisters. ... Kim and I are studying up on zone defense!"

Chad, who is the younger brother of Grinder star Rob Lowe, married Painter in 2009. He was married to actor was previously married to Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank for eight years before the couple split in 2006.

This appears to be a big week for the cast of Pretty Little Liars.  Lowe's costar, Sasha Pieterse, announced she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Hudson Sheaffer. Pieterse, 19, plays Alison DiLaurentis on the popular show.

But Liars fans got a scare when it was announced that the "story" will end after the seventh season.

Showrunner Marlene King told Variety, "This story, when we're back, will end next year at the at end of Season 7."

But that statement caused some confusion among fans. King attempted to explain on Twitter: "What I said was 'This Uber A story that starts on January 12 will end when season 7 ends'. I did not say PLL will end. Just sayin 4 real."
