While the rest of the world was busy losing their minds (and more) over the recent release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, comedian and star of the new Netflix series, F is for Family, Bill Burr, found himself rather confused by the hype. The stand-up recently appeared on TBS' CONAN to discuss his new series, and during his panel Burr decided to give a little review of his memories of Star Wars.

"Somehow I missed that movie when it came out," he told host Conan O'Brien, who claimed that he believed Burr to be the perfect age upon the original film's release back in 1977, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

Admitting he grew up "isolated in a weird way" from other people – "we were cut off from the other kids" – Burr further noted that he remembers being able to hold a conversation with students in June of 1977 just as he was getting out of school. Sadly, as everyone came back in September, things appeared to have changed.

"Over the summer, Star Wars came out, and by September I didn't know what anybody was talking about," he joked.

Burr added that he hadn't seen the film until he was 27 years old. He found it to be a "cheesy self-help book put in outer space with Muppets."

As the crowd seemingly appeared to turn on him, none of it fazed the comedian, who further pushed onward, claiming that he's hoping to drive by a long line of Star Wars fans awaiting to get into The Force Awakens to try and understand why in the world all of this hyper matters.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opened this past Dec. 18. Per a report from Deadline, the film has already surpassed $1 billion in global sales.
