Matt Barnes Suspended for Altercation with Gloria Govan's Rumored Beau, Derek Fisher

It ooks like Matt Barnes' bad behavior caught up with him once again. MStars News has learned that the Memphis Grizzlies power forward was suspended on Monday, Dec. 28, for two games after he had an altercation with Gloria Govan's rumored beau, Derek Fisher, back in October.

MStars News previously reported that Barnes was upset with his estranged wife for allowing the New York Knicks coach into her house when their twins, Isaiah and Carter, were present. Barnes drove 95 miles after his California basketball camp to threaten Fisher during an altercation. Cops were called, but no charges were ever filed.

At that time a source said, "Barnes went crazy. He got in his car and went to the house and went after Fisher," adding, "Matt then drove down there to beat the sh*t out of him."

After the NBA did their own investigation of the fight, they decided to punish Barnes. Coach Fisher wasn't disciplined for the incident. Fisher and Barnes were former teammates and friends who played together for the Los Angeles Lakers from 2010 to 2012. The Knicks are scheduled to play the Grizzlies next month, and Barnes will probably be back on the court for that game. Hopefully the beef between the two men will go away after Barnes takes his suspension.

According to Yahoo Sports, Barnes will start his suspension on Tuesday and miss the game against Miami Heat. He will also have to sit out Saturday against the Utah Jazz. During that time, Barnes will lost at least $64,000 in his salary because of his punishment.

Govan, who is a reality star on Basketball Wives LA, has been estranged from Barnes for some time now. The couple were on-again, and off-again throughout their entire relationship. Despite many breakups, Govan and Barnes tied the knot and were married back in 2012.
