Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister was photographed just days before his death at age 70 of brain and neck cancer. The legendary singer appeared frail in photos taken at his 70th birthday celebration. Lemmy had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer two days before he died.

One photo was posted online by singer Sebastian Bach, while another was shared by a female fan.

Annie M. Harvey also shared a photo from Lemmy's birthday bash.

Lemmy’s manager, Todd Singerman, revealed that the rocker found out he had terminal cancer of the brain and neck on Dec. 26. Kilmister was thrown a birthday party at the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles on Dec. 13, although he turned 70 on Dec. 24. Just two days after his party, the singer wanted to go to the hospital when he was not feeling well. He was released, but doctors wanted to run tests because of his odd speech patterns. Doctors first believed the singer had possibly suffered a stroke, but instead found an aggressive form of cancer in Lemmy's brain and neck. The singer's manager told Sky News, "The doctor comes with the result a couple of days later and says… it’s terminal. Nobody had any idea. "We just learned Saturday, two days ago (sic), that he even had cancer and the doctor told him he had between two to six months to live. He was feeling mighty low… He wasn’t expected to die like that … That (cancer) was the last thing we thought he would ever have. When you think about it he has been to every doctor and hospital around the world and nobody caught that… That comes as a massive shock." The heavy metal rocker died surrounded by his family in his Los Angeles home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from the Rainbow.

News of Lemmy's death was posted on Motorhead's official Facebook page.
