We still have to wait an agonizingly long time for Season 6 of Game of Thrones to premiere, but we have some spoilers to tide you over in the meantime. The latest news is about Bran Stark, who will apparently be able to see important events in the past and the future when the show returns.

Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays Bran, spoke to EW and revealed that his character, who has seen brief glimpses of the past, present, and future, will now be able to see more of the larger Game of Thrones world after his training with the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow).

"Previously Bran's seen tiny glimpses of future or past but never has he been very much in control in the situation," he said. "Now we're given looks into very important events in the past, present and future of this world and Bran is beginning to piece them together like a detective, almost as if he's watching the show. Equally, he's now discovering how crucial he could be in the Great War. It's quite Inception-y."

That's quite the reveal for a show that has largely avoided using flashbacks as a storytelling device thus far.

Fans of the show may recall that Bran was absent from the entirety of Season 5 after he reached the Three-Eyed Raven in the Season 4 finale. Since then, the now 16-year-old Hempstead-Wright has grown to six feet tall and chopped off much of his hair. But before he went on his year-long hiatus, the actor had a bit of a scare when showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss asked to speak to him.

"When I first heard the news Dan and David wanted to have a chat with me, I was like, 'Oh no!'" he said. "Usually that's to tell you [your character is] dead. So comparatively, missing a season was like, 'phew!'"

Benioff and Weiss explained to Hempstead-Wright that the hiatus would serve to skip through Bran's training with the Three-Eyed Raven. They compared this strategy to Luke Skywalker's transformation from rookie Jedi in The Empire Strikes Back to full-on Jedi master in Return of the Jedi.
