The holiday is here and free time is abundant. Looking for a nice way to spend your New Year's Day? Get into the new Netflix docu-series Making A Murderer. This 10-episode series will make the perfect Netflix and Chill session to welcome 2016. The buzz-worthy, true crime story about the trials and arrests of Steven Avery will leave you on the edge of your seat and wondering about the criminal justice system.

Making a Murderer follows the chilling story of Steven Avery, who was arrested for sexual assault and served 18 years in prison. DNA evidence surfaced that proved him innocent of the crime, therefore he was exonerated. Avery's release raised several important questions about the effectiveness of the criminal justice system. He became determined to expose the corruption in the Wisconsin Manitowoc County Police Department with a multi-million dollar lawsuit.

In the midst of his efforts to seek justice, Avery finds himself back behind bars. This time for murder. Avery becomes the prime suspect for the murder of a 25-year-old photographer named Teresa Halbach.

This roller coaster thriller, directed by Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, takes the audience through a whirlwind of emotions as the case is examined from multiple angles. The director duo worked for 10 years to create the series after being inspired by a newspaper article published in 2005.

In a press release from Netflix, Making A Murderer is described as "a riveting, high-stakes criminal case where reputation is everything and things are never as they appear. The filmmakers have documented every angle of the story, following the second investigation and ensuing trial of the accused, petitioning the court to avoid having to turn over their footage, gathering archival materials, and interviewing those closest to the case."

Making A Murderer aired exclusively on Netflix on December 18. Over the past two weeks, there have been lots of conversation happening around the show. The main question: Did Avery commit the murder or not?
