Alicia Keys' movers are happy to pocket an extra $1,000 dollars per day at Keys' expense. According to TMZ, that's approximately how much the giant crane that Keys is using to move out of her SoHo apartment costs.

Keys and her music producer husband Swizz Beatz ("...make money") are moving out of their starter pad, a $15 million condo in upscale SoHo . Keys and Beatz purchased the home in 2010 from fellow music maker Lenny Kravitz. The couple sold the 6,000 sq. ft. home after purchasing a $12 million mansion in Englewood, New Jersey. The home was originally listed at $30 million, so it appears that Keys or Beatz is quite the haggler.

Keys must have a thing for "homes formerly owned by celebrities" because her new digs used to belong to Eddie Murphy. The home is the exact opposite of Keys' current place, sitting on 5 acres of private land. According to the Daily Mail, the home boasts marble fireplaces, a movie theater, tennis courts, racquetball courts,  a bowling alley, an indoor pool and-luckily for the two stars- a private recording studio.

Other stars in the ritzy neighborhood include Diddy, Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia and basketball great Patrick Ewing.

A crane makes since as moving large objects down treacherous stairs or elevators can prove tricky. When you have a number of delicate, large objects (read: lots of pianos) to move a crane starts making a whole lot of sense.

What do you think? Should Keys and Beatz have stayed in their city, or is it the right time to head out to the country?
