The Marvel Phase 3 is now only a few months away from its premiere with Captain America: Civil War, and right ahead of the big start, producer Kevin Feige speaks about plans for the next stage of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).   The next phase should include Thor: Ragnarok, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the road leading to Avengers: Infinity Wars against Thanos.

Feige, the current president of Marvel Studios and the mastermind behind the multi-billion-dollar success of the MCU, recently spoke to Empire Magazine (in a print edition only story) about what's next in the movieverse, starting off with who will be joining the Guardians. Of course, MStars still has the details for you on this story.

As Coming Soon reports of the story, Feige says they were definitely eyeing new additions and incarnations of the team led by Star-Lord, sharing that fans would "catch a glimpse" of them over the course of the next film, which director James Gunn recently shared would begin shooting in March; however, supervillain Thanos (Josh Brolin) won't be making a big appearance.

It seems like fans can expect Thanos to only pop back into the MCU when he means business after last appearance in the mid-credits scene of this year's Avengers: Age of Ultron, already in possession of the Infinity Gauntlet in an early teaser for Avengers: Infinity Wars.

Feige also gushed about other upcoming projects such as the Tom Holland led Spider-Man film saying that, contrary to rumors, the story to be "as big and spectacular a Spider-Man film as has ever been made," though the focus will be heavily on Peter Parker as a 15 year-old high school kid.

As far as Thor: Ragnarok is concerned, it's going to be "as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America," sharing that there will be very little screen time of planet Earth, and the addition of Mark Ruffalo's Hulk to the mix will certainly shake things up.

The film that seems to have the strongest connection with Infinity Wars, surprisingly enough, is actually the Chadwick Boswick led Black Panther.

"It's a big geo-political action adventure that focuses on the family and royal struggle of T'Challa in Wakanda, and what is means to be a king," said Feige to Empire, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "T'Challa's story is very important to us as it links to the next Avengers films, which is why we brought it forward."

The MCU Phase 3 will kick off with two movies in 2016, first Civil War (which will introduce both Spidey and Black Panther) and later Doctor Strange, starring Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role.
