Part of what drew fans' excitement over Star Wars: The Force Awakens when it was first announced, was hearing that the original trio of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford would be coming back, obviously over 30 years older. While some people have problems with Fisher's age and how she looks these days (strangely they don't care how old the men look), and Princess Leia isn't about to take crap from anyone.  She publically fought back at those who thought they could judge her and taunt her for her age.

The actress, who hit icon status in the late 70's by playing the galactic royal in the original Star Wars trilogy, recently took to Twitter to talk about the numerous discussions fans have had about whether or not she had aged well, now that she's returned to the saga that made her famous.

"Please stop debating about whether OR not [I] aged well," 59-year-old Fisher told her followers, after many of the millions of people who have seen the movie took to social media to comment on whether or not Fisher's still hot. "Unfortunately it hurts all 3 of my feelings. My BODY hasn't aged as well as I have. Blow us."

A number of outlets such as CNN and The Independent have agreed with Fisher's stance, in a time when ageism is heavily discussed in Hollywood: earlier this year, actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, who's only 38, shared that she had been deemed too old to play the love interest of a man over a decade older than her in one film.

Still, some people like The New York Post's reviewer Kyle Smith (the same person who earlier wrote that women were incapable of understanding Goodfellas) still support the stance of being critical of an actress' looks, notoriously taking to the publication to call out Fisher by saying that if she "doesn't like being judged on looks, she should quit acting."

In fact, Fisher seldom gets in front of the camera these days: her acting career has been short besides the Star Wars trilogy (with notable exceptions like a small role in the 80's classic comedy When Harry Met Sally and voice acting), and she has been working as a script doctor for decades.
