'Days of Our Lives' Actress Kate Mansi Reportedly Leaving The NBC Soap!

The Days of Our Lives rumor mill is running wild today with reports that fan favorite, Kate Mansi, is leaving the show. Although there has yet to be an official response from Mansi or DOOL, that has not stopped the soap world from wondering what is going to happen to Abigail Deveraux?

Since there is no official response from the actress or the hit daytime show, you might be wondering how such a rumor got started. That depends on exactly who you ask. According to Serial Scoop, Mansi is for sure leaving the show. In fact she has already taped her final scenes but will remain on screen until late spring. May sweeps perhaps?

Along with the Serial Scoop rumor, We Love Soaps is adding their two cents to this rumor with the news that back in November, a casting call went out for a character that sounded an awful lot Abigail. Even though the call was for a woman named "Val, the soap opera website is claiming the description sounded like it could be for the daughter of Jack and Jennifer Deveraux.

If both rumors due turn out to be true and Kate Mansi is leaving Days of Our Lives, it will be a while before fans find out exactly what is going to happen to her character. DOOL tapes 5 ½ months in advance, crazy yes, but it is part of the deal with the network and it keeps the show on air, so fans just have to deal with it.

The alleged departure of Mansi comes hot on the heels of a year of high profile departures from the NBC soap. Here is hoping that this leaving DOOL trend stops pretty soon, the show is actually getting good again.
