A few months back, multi-talented feminist Lena Dunham had teased that the season 6 of Girls could be the last, and unfortunately HBO has just confirmed the news and it might be just in time: one of the main actors, Adam Driver, has just turned into a megastar after playing villain Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

According to Deadline, everyone involved in the critically acclaimed dramedy apparently agreed the time to end the show was near, saying that the right span for the series was six seasons, which makes sense considering it's a story about people in their 20s figuring out their lives, so there's only so much one can extend that particular story arc.

"We're starting to think about sort of how to wrap up the storylines of these particular young women," creator/producer/screenwriter/star Dunham told Elvis Duran in an interview last September. "I started working on this show when I was 23, and now I'm going to be 30 so it kind of feels right that this show kind of sandwiched my 20s and then I go off into the world."

Since the show first aired in 2012, the cast has blossomed into some of the biggest names in their generation, with Dunham becoming a widely read author (besides the editor of her own newsletter, Lenny), Allison Williams playing the title character in Peter Pan Live, Zosia Mamet currently with four projects lined up between 2015 and 2016 and Driver turning into an indie film powerhouse first and a galactic villain in the past month -- besides co-starring in Martin Scorsese's next film, Silence, alongside Liam Neeson and Andrew Garfield.

This spring will mark the fifth season of Girls, so fans of the show still have two seasons left to enjoy and see whether Hannah, Marnie, Jessa and Shosh will get their lives together.
