‘Quantico’ Priyanka Chopra Gets People’s Choice Award for Favorite Actress in New TV Series

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who recently amazed her fans by an astounding performance in Bajirao Mastani, earned herself the Favorite Actress in a New TV Series Award at the People's Choice Awards 2016 for her role in the hit television series, Quantico.

The 33-year-old Indian actress plays the role of an FBI agent named Alex Parish in Quantico and by winning the award, she officially became the first Indian actor to win a People's Choice Awards. According to Indian Express, Chopra beat popular Hollywood actresses like Marcia Gay Harden, Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts to bag the award. At the award ceremony, Chopra wore a gold and silver dress which was designed by Vera Wang whereas, her makeup and styling were done by Quantico makeup artist, Stephaine Barnes.

After winning , Chopra tweeted the picture of herself with the crystal trophy:

Before going on stage for her big win, Chopra shared two pictures of herself on her Instagram handle. While one picture is all about her getting ready, the other picture is show her eating a burger.

Quantico marks Chopra's first Hollywood project. She has received a lot of praise for her portrayal of Parrish, suspected of committing a terrorist attack, in the series. While this is not the first time an Indian born artist has earned fame on a foreign platform but the People's Choice Award made Chopra the talk of the tinsel town.

The actress will soon be seen in Prakash Jha's Jai Gangaajal. The trailer has been received with positive views from both fans and the media. The film is scheduled to release on March 4, 2016.
