The People's Choice Awards were full of great speeches but it was Ellen DeGeneres' speech that gave a message to fans: kindness. In sticking with what has become her mantra, she delivered a message that was true and fuuny all in one felt swoop.

DeGeneres was honored with the Favorite Humanitarian Award at last night's ceremony; she also took home the award for Favorite Daytime TV Host. Melissa McCarthy gave a wonderful introduction that highlighted the comedian's charitable work as well as her love for helping others. In fact, she even spoke about her kind-hearted spirit.

True to form, as soon as she took the stage DeGeneres's witty sense of humor took over. She thanked McCarthy for her words but also pointed out that the actresses forgot to mention that Ellen is also good looking. That particular moment between these two funny ladies was a great way to for the honoree to start her speech.

Throughout the entire speech the talk show host continued to prove why fans love her with her charm in full force. She cracked jokes about being the Dalai Lama of daytime and referred to herself as the Mother Teresa of talk shows. DeGeneres even ended the speech with the comment, "I want to make you happy," then showed a picture of a naked Chris Hemsworth.

However it wasn't all hilarious jokes during Ellen DeGeneres' speech. She took some time to talk about being kind and loving to each other. Her message was everyone should know love and be loved and everyone should work towards helping others. Although she made a funny comment about doing those things to win an award, it was immediately clear that she was speaking from her heart.

It was a message that showcased the type of person she is and confirmed why she was chosen for that particular honor. She left the stage after saying, "Be kind to one another," which as fans know is her signature sign off phrase.
