Kobe Bryant suffered a torn rotator cuff in the Los Angeles Lakers loss to the New Orleans Pelicans last night, and the team report that he will fly back to LA to be examined by team doctors, missing the team's game against reigning NBA champion San Antonio Spurs this Friday. It raises the question of, after three straight seasons of major injuries whether or not, the 36 year old superstar will retire, or play out the last remaining year on his mammoth contract. The NFL's 'DeflateGate' has an update. New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has said that he had no knowledge of the 11 of 12 game balls being under-inflated until he was told about it on Monday, adding that he was "shocked" by the news. He then left it to quarterback Tom Brady to explain his preferences, and that he has "no explanation for what happened." Baltimore Ravens player Chris Canty has said that DeflateGate is the same as using PEDs and is against the integrity of the game. The 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend Dunk Competition provisional contestants have been leaked, with a slew of young NBA talent set to thrill on All Star Saturday, taking place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City on February 14. 2015's NBA All-Star Weekend Dunk Contest will reportedly feature Mason Plumlee of the Brooklyn Nets, the Orlando Magic's Victor Oladipo, Zach Lavine of the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Milwaukee Bucks 'Greek Freak', Giannis Antetokounmpo. There may still be other contestants - last year there were six - such as Philadelphia 76er KJ McDaniels and leading Rookie of the Year candidate and No. 1 NBA draft pick, Andrew Wiggins of the Wolves. Patriots 'DeflateGate' - where 11 of the 12 game day footballs used by the New England Patriots in their 42-7 AFC Championship Game win over the Indianapolis Colts were reportedly found to be deflated to less than NFL regulation - is heating up, with analysts calling for Bill Belichick to be suspended for the NFL Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks, while others are calling the situation 'overblown'. LeBron James is the highest paid NBA player, with reigning NBA MVP Kevin Durant coming in second, and LA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant third, report 'Forbes'. Meanwhile, the team that James left in the offseason, the Miami Heat, has the best fans in the NBA, according to a separate report. The NBA now has 11 teams worth over $1 billion, with three teams — the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls — now worth over $2 billion, says a new report from Forbes. The whopping new evaluations come as two of those eleven, the league-leading Atlanta Hawks and struggling, Russian-owned Brooklyn Nets are up for sale (potentially, at least, with the Nets), and the league enjoying a league-wide boom in revenue. But it still appears that billionaire and former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer overpaid for the Chris Paul and Blake Griffin-led Los Angeles Clippers when he bought the team for $2 billion in 2014. New England Patriots defensive linesman Vince Wilfork saved a woman from a car wreck on Sunday night following his team's AFC Championship Game win over the Indianapolis Colts,. Proving that he wasn't just a stalwart on the field but a hero off it too, the 325+ pound Wilfork lent a hand in rescuing a woman from a car crash, lifting her from her upturned car just before 1am on Monday morning.
