Finally! Carolina Panthers' starting quarterback, Cam Newton, 26, revealed that he was a new father. MStars News has learned that Newton's longtime girlfriend, Kia Proctor, 27, gave birth to the couple's son on Christmas Eve. Proctor, a former DC stripper who went by the name of "Hazel," went into labor with the couple's baby boy in Atlanta, according to People Magazine. Newton announced the news on Wednesday, December 30. "My longtime girlfriend and I were extremely blessed to have a son last week. An Atlanta Falcon linebacker quickly became an ex-Atlanta Falcon linebacker after being arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend's dog. Prince Shembo, the now former Falcon, was in tears over the arrest. According to Shembo the dog bit him and that's when he accidentally killed it. Read More »
The Atlanta Falcons are facing fines and losing draft picks after getting caught pumping artificial noise into their stadium. The team will lose $350,00 and must forfeit their fifth-round draft pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Mike Smith went 66-46 in the regular season through seven years with the Atlanta Falcons, but a 10-22 mark over the last two campaigns led the Falcons to fire Smith in a Black Monday move. Smith wasn't the best game manager despite being the winningest coach in Falcons history, according to "Sports Illustrated." But he dealt with a depleted roster the past two years, as the team didn't surround quarterback Matt Ryan with adequate talent. Who could replace Smith in Atlanta? The New York Jets have fired Rex Ryan. The controversial head coach had already reportedly cleaned out his desk, and Jets owner Woody Johnson today obliged both Rex and General Manager John Idzik by parting ways with the pair. This year the Jets went 4-12, the worst record the team has posted since 2007, and once again missed the NFL playoffs making it their fourth season in a row without postseason action. The Jets have hired two former NFL GMs - Charley Casserly and Ron Wolf - to oversee their new hires, while speculation is mounting that Rex Ryan could head to the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders or Chicago Bears. Josh Gordon is back, the real (starter) Isaiah Crowell and Brian Hoyer are ready to rumble and they've just — perhaps luckily — beaten the Atlanta Falcons with a last-second field goal.
