Move aside Lenny Kravitz, there is a new Marvin Gay in town. Reports are that actor Jesse L. Martin is replacing Kravitz in the role of Marvin Gaye in the biopic "Sexual Healing." It looks like producers are in-talks with popular funk-rock singer Lenny Kravitz to star in an upcoming biopic about the life of musical legend Marvin Gaye - and Gaye's adopted son Marvin Gaye III is not too happy about it. TMZ reports that Gaye III is ashamed that Kravitz would sign up for a film set to focus on a very dark period of his father's later life - the son finds it very "wrong and shameful." Reports confirm that director Cynthia Mort has cast Afro-Latina actress Zoe Saldana to star as the High Priestess of Soul in a highly-anticipated, upcoming Nina Simone biopic entitled "Nina." The recent casting announcement has sparked much controversy over the color of Saldana's skin - many critics believe that while the "Avatar" star is a very talented actress, her skin is much too light (especially in consideration of "traditional" Hollywood beauty standards) to portray the turbulent and remarkable life of the late jazz songstress and Civil Rights activist.
