The highly anticipated film, "Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B" is airing tonight on Lifetime at 8 p.m. EST. Actress, Alexandra Shipp, has taken the role of Aaliyah in the biopic, after Zendaya Coleman (the original choice) resigned. MStars News recently reported the movie underwent some controversy earlier this year when it was announced that Coleman would be taking on the role of the R&B singer. After facing some pretty harsh criticism and scrutiny, however, the Disney star backed out of the project, leaving the door open for Shipp to take over the lead role. Alicia Keys closed out the 2014 MTV EMA with a performance of her thought-provoking, political new track "We Are Here," which was nominated for Best Song With A Message on Sunday, Nov. 9. Her EMA performance wasn't set inside The SSE Hydro, like earlier sets in the night had been, instead she was broadcast from the nearby O2 Academy in Glasgow, which gave the performance an intimate feel.
