Ohio State already had a nice pre-existing relationship with Nike. They've been together for years and have seen more money than the entire state of New Hampshire has ever (presumably). Sports Illustrated reports the people's poll has correctly predicted the last three Heisman winners: Robert Griffin III of Baylor, Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel and Jameis Winston of Florida State. The magazine then makes it clear that Alabama's WR Amari Cooper doesn't get its vote; that goes to Mariota. The Ohio State University Buckeyes had hoped their college football team would have a good season led by Braxton Miller. When he went down and was ruled out for the season, their fans gave up hope, but along came the untried J.T. Barrett.
