Super Bowl XLIX Makes TV History: Patriots-Seahawks Game Sets Ratings Record For Highest US Audience Ever

Sunday's NFL Super Bowl XLIX between Tom Brady's New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks of Russell Wilson drew a record 114.5 million viewers, becoming the most watched show in US television history. At halftime Katy Perry, her dancing sharks and a living scarf drew 118.5 million viewers before the broadcast hit 120.8 million people during the game's nail-biting conclusion, where Seattle coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Wilson combined to call a baffling passing play, which was intercepted by the Patriots.
