Another DC Comics title won't be going through the pilot stage, as TNT drops its own superhero show dead on its track. Based on the Teen Titans series, Titans which was was going to feature Nightwing, Batman's former boy wonder, Robin, has been officially cancelled.

In the DC Comics Universe, Robin formed a team with other teen superheroes, such as Wally West aka Kid Flash, and Beast Boy. Together, they faced off against the X-Men's Dark Phoenix and Slade Wilson, known as Deathstroke the Terminator. Titans revolves around Batman's former sidekick-turned superhero as he puts together his own a band of new superheroes.

As we previously mentioned, Barbara Gordon, the daughter of police commissioner Jim Gordon, the alien princess Koriand'r (Starfire), and Raven, daughter of inter-dimensional demon Trigon, and the crime-fighting duo, Hawk and Dove, will be making their way to your TV screen. No word was given if Beast Boy or Cyborg would be joining the team. The Flash executive producer, Geoff Johns, had mentioned on Twitter that he expected to start shooting the pilot sometime in 2015, but nothing came about until now.

According to TV Line, TNT network president Kevin Reilly confirmed the sad news at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena. Reilly announced, "It is not [still in development]. We just decided it wasn't quite where we wanted to go."

We previously mentioned, the Vampire Diaries actor, Steven McQueen was lobbying hard for the superhero role, as he got into shape through rigorous exercise. Though he departed from the popular CW show, executive producer Julie Plec mentioned McQueen is welcome to return to the show, "unless he finally gets his wish to play a superhero and he's unavailable."

One day, we hope McQueen's dream of being a superhero comes true.

Tiitans has been cancelled by TNT.

Readers, would you have like to have seen Titans?
