Fans of Arrested Development will be excited to hear that creator Mitch Hurwitz is hoping to have Season 5 of the famed series released on Netflix before the 2016 presidential election. Of course, one thing that could hold him back is the fact that the cast hasn't really signed on.

Yet.

Deadline reports that while none of the "main" cast has signed on (officially) for a fifth season, Hurwitz is currently working on writing yet another one and is hopeful that it will be released before our country chooses our next Commander in Chief.

The publication explains that with the ending of Season 4 being that Buster was arrested for the alleged murder of Lucille Austero, Hurwitz was hoping to have Season 5 play out as a "murder mystery." And with the popularity of shows such as HBO's The Jinx and Netflix's Making a Murderer, he feels Season 5 will be "in the vein" of the latter, as Deadline reports.

Much of the next season's delay appears to be casting issues, largely with Jeffrey Tambor, who is currently starring on Amazon's Transparent. Because of that project, Hurwitz will reportedly have to throw out some ideas he's had in the past for Tambor's character, George Bluth – like having him become a woman.

Yes, Hurwitz apparently envisioned George Bluth becoming a woman. Furthermore, the creator reportedly even thought about having George Bluth be a "mute woman," which happened on The Jinx.

Again, this was all before these series were released.

Which begs the question: Can Mitch Hurwitz see the future?

So, while we'll have to wait a while longer for Season 5, at least we have the above to keep us Bluthed-out.

And this...
