North Dakota State continued its dominance of the FCS over the last half decade, winning their fifth national championship in a row – a record for consecutive titles in college football at any level – routing Jacksonville State 37-0 in Frisco, Texas.

Carson Wentz, North Dakota State's star quarterback, returned from injury to lead the Bison with a strong performance. He completed 16 of his 30 passes, good for 197 yards and a touchdown. However, it wasn't just Wentz's arm that caused the Gamecocks trouble, he gave them fits with his legs too, rushing for nearly 80 yards, while also scoring two touchdowns. It's that versatility that shows exactly why he's one of the top quarterback prospects for the upcoming 2016 NFL Draft.

"I felt good. I felt good for the last couple weeks now. That kind of showed a little today," said Wentz, via the the Advocate. "The rust people might have wanted to talk about it, that didn't show."

And while Wentz deserves his fair share of recognition, it by no means was a game won by Wentz alone. The Bison ran the ball well, controlling the tempo of the game, and the defense was exceptional, limiting the Gamecocks to just 204 yards of total offense, while also forcing 4 turnovers.

"Turnovers were crucial," siad Jacksonville State quarterback, Eli Jenkins. "They made some great plays. Some plays I was amazed."

What's even more amazing is the level of consistency that the Bison have shown for five years in a row. Regardless of injuries or loss of star players, they've been able to find a way to outlast every other team in the country year after year.

Considering all the unknown variables that a team is faced with in a given season, let alone five, it's nearly incomprehensible what the Bison have done.
