During Sunday's Golden Globes, as Lady Gaga approached the stage to receive her award for playing The Duchess in American Horror Story: Hotel, she bumped into Leonardo DiCaprio on the way there, and his face made it to the Internet, causing numerous memes. So, what really happened between the two stars?

You must have seen it: about five minutes after the Mother Monster picked up her award last Sunday, a vine/gif started rolling of the moment she walked up there, where she bumped into DiCaprio and the actor made the most uncomfortable face in the world. So, what really went down?

Nothing much it seems. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight after the event, the 41-year-old actor seemed surprised the moment had even become a meme, so he explained that he was just caught off guard.

"Oh, lord -- that's trending, huh?" the actor asked Cameron Mathison once he'd been told about the new meme. "I just didn't know what was passing me -- that's all!"

Of course, even though the explanation was madly simple, news outlets were already having a field day with the viral clip, saying DiCaprio somehow had beef with the pop star, with The Mirror speculating that DiCaprio had made fun of her. Still, other people got cheekier when it came to interpreting the scene, including how author Mark Harris basically said that big movie star DiCaprio just didn't want to get the TV people's cooties.

"I love the way Leo flinched when Gaga walked by like he didn't want any TV to get on his tux," Harris wrote.

Still, Gaga managed to get up on stage with merely a second of delay from her DiCaprio bump, and give a very heartfelt speech, where she compared herself to Cher winning the Oscar for Moonstruck.
