Comedian Ricky Gervais doesn't care what anyone thinks about his Golden Globe jokes. In fact, in a long series of tweets Tuesday morning, Gervais calls out his critics, specifically those that found issue with his Caitlyn Jenner joke.

In his typical fashion, Gervais spent his opening monologue Sunday night reaming multiple celebrities. Caitlyn Jenner, who famously came out as transgender last year, was among the celebs that the comedian poked fun at. Gervais started the joke by promising that he had changed (in reference to his previous hosting gigs in 2010, 2011 and 2012) and then said, "Not as much as Bruce Jenner, obviously. Now Caitlyn Jenner, of course."

"What a year she's had! She became a role model for trans people everywhere, showing great bravery in breaking down barriers and destroying stereotypes," he continued. "She didn't do a lot for women drivers. But you can't have everything. Not at the same time."

The audience seemed to enjoy the joke, with plenty of laughter overheard in the room. However, Gervais has still received enough criticism to take his thoughts on the matter to Twitter.

"Suggesting a joke about Caitlin Jenner is automatically transphobic is like suggesting a joke about Bill Cosby is automatically racist," he wrote.

Gervais went on to tweet, "You have every right to be offended. Just don't cry when no one cares." He also said the hosting gig and outcry has made him want to do a new standup routine, saying, "Now THAT'S when you're allowed to be offended. You whiney c*nts :)"

A couple of hours and a few tweets later, and Gervais took a more serious tone to the issue when a fan got into an argument with Gervais over the joke. Rachel McGrath tweeted at the British star finding issue with the part of the joke that "was about [Jenner's] transition." Gervais replied, "But it WAS Bruce Jenner who changed. Into Caitlyn Jenner. And I respect that. Just not her driving."

He went on to to call the joke "#TransportPhobic" instead. For her part, Jenner has made no comment on the jokes or Twitter debacle. See the joke that started it all below.
